Ocean Kitchen is a coastal restaurant on Marine Drive in Inani, designed to echo the harmonious flow of ocean waves. The structure is built from reclaimed materials sourced from the Bhatiary ship-breaking yards, combined with locally available resources. Salvaged wooden columns, trusses, and deck boards are reinterpreted through local cra smanship and traditional techniques. Its signature element is a 12-foot cantilevered roof supported by a hybrid wood–metal frame with metal cladding, creating an iconic, fluid silhouette. Prioritizing openness, natural ventilation, and lush landscaping, the project highlights sustainability, local labor, and contextual architecture rooted in the coastal character of Cox’s Bazar.
